My plan for this shoot was to take photos at my brother's basketball games because he loves basketball so much! I wanted to mainly focus on team or action shots. My action shots didn't really turn out because I couldn't figure out the correct settings for them to not be so blurry.
My Shoot:
I took these photos at several different Miller Middle School basketball games. I used a zoom lens so that the photos were crisper and focused more on the players. There is a yellowish tent to some of the photos and I don't really know why, but it bothers me a lot so I'm trying to fix it on my camera.
My Edits:
For these edits I really wanted to focus on the bold blue of the jerseys. Blue in my opinion is a color that makes a statement and I wanted to make a statement with this photo. Leaving the jerseys in color and making the background black and white really makes the blue stand out even more. I wanted to show a team moment to that it had more emotion to it rather than just adjusting the color scales.
My Printed Photo:
This photo captures a moment as a team in the heat of a very tight game. This photo shows that they are all a team and have bonded over this sport as well as became good friends. I really like that this is not a posed photo, but that it is very natural and has an in the moment kind of feel. For this photo I didn't have to use an materials, but I did use a zoom lens instead of my regular lens for my camera. For this photo I used color because the blue is very bright and bold drawing the viewers attention. I also used focal point because all of the kids draw your attention to that area of the photo. It also draws attention to the fact that they are working together to win this game. The purpose of this photo is to capture the family atmosphere that being on a team gives it also brings the team together as a whole. They put there differences aside to be a team and win this game.
