My plan for this shoot was to take pictures of my dogs because I love them! Since my whole portfolio is based on things I loved, I really wanted to incorporate my dogs! I took them outside and let them run around so that everything looked very natural and so that they looked really happy.
My Shoot:
Jordyn sometimes looks scared because she was in a shelter and was beaten so I really wanted to bring out the happiness she does have even though she's had a rough life. With TJ I just wanted to capture the corkiness of a puppy and how much energy they have. I picked up one of their favorite toys and held it out of the view of the camera, but it helped to capture their attention, especially a young puppy. It was pretty simple getting pictures of Jordyn because she listens very well. But TJ since he is a puppy doesn't really listen and does what he wants. So it was a little more difficult taking pictures of him.
My Edits:
For this project I didn't edit a lot. I mostly used filter in Lightroom to adjust the lighting and bring out some of the colors in these photos. I prefer my photos to look very natural so I don't edit them a lot. I really like the vignette in Lightroom that darkens the edges of the photos and makes sure that one area of the photo is highlighted. I also wanted these photos to have a warm feel not the cool feel that is outside right now, so the filters really helped with that to bring out the colors.
My Printed Photo:
This photo is of a beloved dog that seems to be very happy. She looks like she is loved very much and that she loves her owner just as much! She has two different colored eyes, one blue and one part brown part blue. She is a very pretty Australian Shepard. In this photo the photographer used the idea to make the focal point not centered, but off to the side. This gave the photo a different feel compared to other work done by this person. There weren't really any materials used, except for the dog and camera. There was a dog toy used to capture the attention of the dog, but you can't see the toy. Focal point was used by making the dog the focus of the photo because there wasn't really any other elements. Color was also used by using a filter that really brought out the colors and made them brighter to give the photo a very happy, lovey feeling. The purpose of this picture was to capture the beauty of our pets and the love that they have. As well as the love we have for them. This photo also was taken to make someone happy because this photo has so much happiness. I really like this picture because it is so happy and bright. I like that one look at this photo shows so much love!
